Hope Teams FAQ

WHAT ARE HOPE TEAMS?

The numbers of refugees and displaced migrants continue to grow at an alarming rate. Hope Teams are passionate about helping these neglected migrants experience the love of Jesus Christ. Each team consists of several young people, each of whom has joined for a two-year term. The teams serve in the epicenters of the crisis, where they proclaim the Gospel and extend the love of Jesus in practical, hopeful ways.

WHERE DO HOPE TEAMS WORK?

We have teams serving in the United Kingdom and Western Asia.

HOW LONG DOES A HOPE TEAM MEMBER SERVE?

Members of Hope Teams serve for two years.

WHO IS THE IDEAL HOPE TEAMS MEMBER?

Ideal team members are resilient people who are passionate to share Christ’s love and his Word cross-culturally, and are ready to take on the challenge of learning how to meet the needs of migrants.

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO SERVE ON A HOPE TEAM?

Members of Hope Teams should:

  • Love Jesus and his church

  • Display spiritual, emotional and relational maturity

  • Handle the details of life independently

  • Demonstrate self-discipline and sacrifice for priorities

  • Work without having constant oversight

  • Manage change and diversity successfully, and

  • Persevere in the face of difficulty

  • Have previous positive cross-cultural experience

No one is perfect in all these areas, but people who are already growing and demonstrating these characteristics will be best prepared for the challenges Hope Teams will face. There are limited openings, so applicants will be considered for placement based on best fit with developing teams.

WHAT DO HOPE TEAMS DO?

Hope Teams serve where displaced migrants are living. As a Hope Teams member, you will spend two years in an international setting. We currently have opportunities to serve in Western Asia and the UK.

Hope Teams serve migrants and refugees in Jesus name. You will build amazing relationships with people who have never experienced the love of Jesus, and you will help meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in tangible ways.

Hope teams share the hope of Jesus. Through your witess, God will transform the lives of migrants in this life and for all eternity.

WOULD I BE GOING ALONE?

Not at all! Your entire experience will take place in a team environment. Together you will:

  • Participate in pre- and on-field training

  • Experience and process cross-cultural development

  • Be mentored by a seasoned cross-cultural worker

The timeframe is not exact, but we are dedicated to helping Hope Teams members train and
deploy rapidly!
